Man moves ice cubes with his mouth to break Guinness World Record

The Idaho man with the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles used his mouth to move more than 2 pounds of ice cubes between two trays.

David Rush, who holds more than 200 Guinness World Records titles, said he initially thought taking on the title for the most ice moved by mouth in 30 seconds would be easy, given his previous experiences with mouth-based records such as catching marshmallows and spitting ping pong balls.

Rush said the record's rules required the ice cubes to be no more than 25 grams (.88 ounces) each, so he ended up measuring water carefully to ensure each cube was the correct weight.

He said the next obstacle was finding the correct level of coldness — too cold, and they stuck to his lips, and not cold enough, they lose weight to run-off water.

"I had to dial in the exact window: letting them temper just enough so they wouldn't glue themselves to my face, but striking before they lost mass or turned impossible to grab," Rush wrote online.

His official attempt on June 12 ended with 991 grams — 34.9 ounces — of cubes moved between the trays, more than enough to take the title.
