Exotic bird flies into Chicago airport, fights with passengers

An exotic green bird flew into a terminal at Chicago O'Hare International Airport and was filmed fighting with passengers and airline workers.

Videos captured near the Air France check-in line at the airport's Terminal 5 show the green bird, which may have been a parrot, perching on passenger's heads and luggage.

The bird can be seen becoming aggressive and pecking at anyone who attempts to touch or capture it.

Paris Elbert, an O'Hare worker who captured video of the bird's Oct. 13 visit, said the avian flew into the airport through an open door.

"A lot of people wanted to get the bird, but every time they tried to either grab the bird or be nice to the bird, the bird chose fight, not flight," Elbert told CBS Chicago.

Elbert said a janitor was finally able to capture the bird using a shirt and took it to a veterinarian to be examined and scanned for a microchip.
