Guinness World Records 2027: Narrowest car, most tattooed person

Guinness World Records celebrated the latest release of its annual book by announcing new records including the narrowest driveable car and the most tattooed person.

The record-keeping organization's Guinness World Records 2027 book is available now in stores, and the latest tome features dozens of newly-broken records, including daring stunts, feats of memory and huge collections.

"Last year, we set the world a challenge — Be Part of It — and I'm pleased to say that the world responded," Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief at Guinness World Records, said in a news release. "Our Records Managers have sifted through tens of thousands of applications from wannabe record breakers to bring you Guinness World Records 2027, a fully updated compendium of stats, facts, figures and photographs celebrating the most incredible achievements on Earth... and beyond."

Here are some of the new records found in Guinness World Records 2027.

Most tattooed person living (multiple layers) (male)

Ephemeral Remy got his first ink in 2005, and he has since covered 90% of the surface of his body in tattoos, and re-covered those areas with up to 40 layers of tattoos. He said some areas have even been tattooed more than 100 times.

"My friends and family would often read through the new Guinness World Records books when we were growing up, I spent the most time looking at the 'freaks of nature' and I am honored to go down in history as one of them," Remy said.

Narrowest driveable car

Italian Andrea Marazzi, 31, who makes his living in dismantling and recycling vehicles, rebuilt a Fiat Panda to measure just 19.76 inches wide. While the car is driveable, Marazzi said he only brings it out for fairs, events and controlled demonstrations.

"It means a lot because the car has made so many people smile. For me, the best part is that it is not only a technical achievement, but also a fun and positive project that people immediately understand and enjoy," Marazzi said.

Largest hairdryer

British engineer Ruth Amos hosts the YouTube channel "Kids Invent Stuff," where she and her team take ideas submitted by children and turn them into a reality. Amos, who previously built the world's largest electric toothbrush and the tallest 3D-printed plastic-brick Christmas tree, has now assembled the world's largest hairdryer.

Amos' functioning hairdryer measures 5 feet, 9 inches long and 5 feet, 3 inches tall.

Most decimal digits memorized underwater

German Christian Schafer, whose memory skills previously earned him a winning spot on the Guinness World Records - Die Grosse Show der Weltrekorden TV series, submerged himself in a pool to put his memory to another test.

Schafer studied a sequence of numbers underwater and was able to recount 87 of them.

Largest collection of frog related items

California woman Susan Burgos' love of frogs led to her having to purchase a second home with a big garage to store some of her 13,201 items, which include stuffed animals, toys, Christmas ornaments, housewares and clothes.

Burgos, who beat the previous record of 10,502, said her love of frogs started when she found a tiny tree frog in her kitchen in 1983. The encounter inspired her to buy the first item in her collection, a gold frog ring with emerald eyes.

Tallest horse

Hugo, a 4-year-old shire horse living in England, was officially named the tallest horse living when a veterinarian measured him at 6 feet and 6.3 inches tall.

The veterinarian had to measure Hugo three times without shoes on to verify his height.
