Overnight Workers Report Bigfoot Sighting in West Virginia

A pair of overnight workers in West Virginia were understandably terrified when they spotted a sizeable figure that they suspect was Sasquatch walking just a few hundred feet away from their job site. The unsettling sighting, reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) by the girlfriend of one of the witnesses, occurred at around 1:30 AM last Thursday in the community of Tabler Station. While loading railroad cars at an industrial plant, the two workers were stunned when they "looked off in the distance at a building that had a light source" and noticed a monstrous interloper that had them doing a double-take.

Specifically, from a distance of around 400 feet, the men said they saw an "approximately 8-foot-tall walking creature" pass beneath the light and vanish into the darkness. The "huge" bipedal figure, which the witness was certain was not a bear nor a person, was described as being "blacker than black" and taking "long strides" as it moved. According to the report, the two witnesses "both looked at each other and said 'what the hell was that.'"

Alas, because they were working at the time, the pair did not have the chance to follow up on the sighting in the moment it occurred. That said, they may have been happy about that as a follow-up investigation by the BFRO found that the massive figure "scared the daylights out of both witnesses." Interestingly, since the sighting occurred near a newly built warehouse, it is believed that the creature could have been caught on camera. And I mean nothing but bbq sauce.

Told my 5 year old we can order pizza for his birthday dinner and that he can choose anything he wants because it’s his birthday and this was what he wanted. Pizza with nothing but barbecue sauce - no cheese, no toppings, nothing just a base with sauce and if I knew this in advance, I’d of brought a plain pizza base from the supermarket and put sauce on it, could have saved a few quid lol

101-year-old New Zealand man named world's oldest croquet player

A New Zealand man who took up the game of croquet at the age of 79 was named the world's oldest player by Guinness World Records at 101.

The record-keeping organization said Neville Sandiford was 101 years and 262 days old when he participated in an 80+ Golf Croquet tournament in Paraparaumu, Wellington, in August 2025.

His participation in the event earned him the Guinness World Record for the oldest competitive croquet player (male).

Sandiford, who has three children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, said he took up croquet at the age of 79 at the urging of his wife, Joan.

"[She] read an advertisement in the newspaper that the Wellington club was giving free lessons," he told Guinness World Records. "So we went along. As soon as I took hold of a mallet and hit one ball I knew that was for me. The game we played was Association Croquet and I found myself winning club competitions right from the very first year."

Sandiford joined the Paraparaumu Croquet Club and started playing in tournaments for both Association Croquet and Golf Croquet.

"I remember when I started out as a new player, there was so much to learn — how to hold the mallet, how to strike the ball, and all the rules connected with the two codes. And even at that time, as a junior, I was very competitive and needed to see myself improving," he said.

"It was due to the endless support and encouragement of the club members that kept me going. Without that I wouldn't have got so much enjoyment from the sport, and I definitely wouldn't be celebrating this achievement."

'Project Hail Mary' trailer stunt earns Guinness World Record

Project Hail Mary has earned a Guinness World Record following its publicity stunt in space.

Sony announced Thursday that the movie was awarded the Guinness World Records title for Highest Altitude IMAX Film Trailer after broadcasting the film's trailer in space.

In a partnership with the space agency Sent Into Space, the Project Hail Mary trailer was shown March 14 on a scale replica IMAX screen 101,896 feet above Earth.

Sent Into Space previously said its team built a carbon-fiber launch vehicle to launch the screen, which was built to operate in the sub-zero temperatures of space.

"After a lovely spot of sunbathing at the launch site, we completed our pre-flight checks and sent the craft on its merry way into the far reaches of the upper stratosphere. Here, we remotely activated the IMAX movie screen and aired the Project Hail Mary trailer against the blackness of space, the curvature of the Earth and the thin blue line of its atmosphere!" the company said.

'Goose on the loose' wrangled in Connecticut

April 14 (UPI) — Animal control officials in Connecticut are trying to find the owner of a "goose on the loose" found in Orange.

Milford Animal Control said on social media that the goose was found by an Orange woman who is keeping the avian safe and healthy until its owner can be found.

Canada geese are native to Connecticut, but the domesticated goose found in orange appears to be a Toulouse goose, a breed originating from France.

They are not found in the wild in New England, but are often sold commercially due to their large size and docile temperament.

Animal control is asking anyone with information on the goose's origins to contact officials.

Sea lion wanders inland to San Francisco neighborhood

A sea lion wandered out of the Pacific Ocean and was found several blocks inland in San Francisco's Outer Sunset District.

Residents said they awoke Thursday morning to find a sea lion being wrangled by police and San Francisco Parks & Recreation rangers in the area of 48th Avenue and Irving Street.

"Wasn't an arrest, exactly, but the police officers were trying to get a California sea lion in custody," Tamara Barak Aparton, a San Francisco Parks & Recreation spokesperson, told CBS San Francisco. "It had wandered out of the ocean and onto the city street."

Personnel from the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito were summoned to the scene and loaded the sea lion into a vehicle for transport.

The sea lion, dubbed Irving by the Marine Mammal Center, will be assessed by veterinarians before hopefully being returned to the ocean, officials said.

"We are grateful for the quick action, dedication, and support from our partners that allowed this young animal to be rescued in the wee hours of the morning, giving Irving a second chance," the center said in a statement provided to KGO-TV.

Family Charged RM6 For ‘Outside Drink’ After The Kids Drank Their Water Bottle At S’porean Eatery

Most of us have seen those familiar signs at eateries — “no outside food and drinks allowed”.
But getting charged for it, especially when it’s just kids drinking plain water? That’s something one family didn’t expect.

According to Mothership, a family dining at a restaurant in Singapore was left surprised after spotting an extra charge on their bill.

The diner said he was out with his family of five, including his two children aged five and 10.

While the adults ordered drinks from the restaurant, the children drank from a bottle of water they had brought along.

However, when the bill arrived, the family noticed an additional S$2 (around RM6+) charge for two “outside drinks”.
He said he clarified the situation with staff, explaining that the children were only drinking plain water, but was told the charge still applied and could not be waived.

“Didn’t expect it to apply to children”
He shared that the charge came as a surprise, as he believed such policies are usually more flexible especially when customers are already ordering drinks.

He also said he assumed the rule would apply to adults rather than children, which was why none of the adults drank from the bottle.

The incident felt even more disappointing as his family had been patronising the eatery for over two decades, dating back to its earlier days under a different name.

In response, the restaurant said it enforces a strict no outside food and drinks policy.
