How long have you been studying English?

I have been studying english for 8 years.
And what about you? =)

I start learn english, when I was very small... I was 3-5 years old. And every human study english... Cuz english words we see always...

I stude only one year....
I thing it one of the most spoken languages in the world and I need to know it...

The title is incorect.
We can't say so.
The correct title must be: how long have you deen studying English.

What's the matter..? Let's better talk about something...

Hmm...I studied english for basically my whole life...

Oh, well... the first trite sentence...
I have been studying English for three years.

Although it's false... Just I don't consider previous two years, when I was being taught the alphabet. Ridiculous, but for this time I was ranting and raving!... So I entered on English courses on the Elementary level. Now I have been learning Upper-Intermediate (4 level) missing previous level, because... I have magnificent brains!

So it was my knotty English. I'm not being embarrassed my terrible knowledges in this language, besides I want to communicate with you, hahahah, and I will be able to scare my familiar translators in Internet.

PS: Please, ask me, where I take any mistakes and I will adore you forever.

Bless you, no! I have talked about school lessons, where I was taught alphabet two years (Hahah, now my class have a new teacher, who want to explain all verb tenses during two academic houres. Don't make laugh my ass! =lol= It's not be impossible to understand by such jerks like several of my group ), and English courses in J&S Company (you may see their page http://www.jands.ru).

I`ve been studing English for 10 years, since 1st grade. But last year I was living in GB. It`s a great shock!! They never use `true English`!! I`d to listen only for about a week, as it was impossible to understand somebody... :unsure:
And now teachers in my school tell me `your English is horrible`, `you`d better studied the alphabet` etc. Foreigners which come to our school like my language, but it makes no difference...
So, it`s not important HOW LONG you`ve been studing - it depends on the kind of English only...

I have been studying English for 6 years. :clever: I'm 13 now. I studied British form of English in Ukraine, but ever since I moved to the United States,( I lived here for 2 full years) I used American English. It's actually a bit easier for me. I read books, watch movies, speak...English. It was a bit hard for me at first, but now a speak really well, with almost no accent. ^_^ Now I even think in English. It scares me sometimes. I still want to keep Russian and Ukrainian customs part of my life though. It's very important to know who you are.

I began to learn English when I was the child. Now I`m 14, therefore I can say that I learn this language 10 years and I like it very much. But as well as each person ( I think so) I would like to improve it.

Hm, 13 years and now I speak it quite fluently. It's my job - to know English. :) The BEST accent is pure British. Sounds like a music to my ear, that's why I watch HP soooooo very often - for clearing up my ears from rapid American speech! ;-)

I studied English for 2 years and then I came to USA and started talking good like in 3 month !!

I haven't found the answer like "dunno" or "don't remember"!! Because I don't really remember myself STUDYING it, it just came itself... I always enjoyed "studying" it, and it soon became my favourite language... I'm just always trying to find someone to talk in english, someone, who knows ONLY english, so we can't say a word in.. Russian, for example :D
Anyway, at school I was always the best on it!

well... i've been studing English since I was 5. Till 6-th form we've studied only grammar. But now i'm improving my spoken language skills. I think every person, who really wants to know any language must study himself too. Not only at school (or wherever he/she studies it).
I've realised that I really want to know Enlglish only when I was 12. Till then I just just studied it because I had to do it. My mistake...

Hi, everyone))) I'm new here, and it's the first topic I decided to visit, 'cause I've been studying English for a very long time! Well... I'm not too modest, you know... Maybe I'm not perfect in modern language, I mean slang and swearings and all that kind of stuff, but I passed Advanced ESOL international exam four years ago, and now I'm studying at the English faculty. So you may say that foreign languages are my life, though I've got lots of other interests, too. :)

It's "been" not "deen". Sometimes people get the b and the d confused with one another.

Seems like I was born with it....I started speaking when groups like East 17 and Take That appeared....I was just repeating what they sang...but i started actually learning at school...and now I'm a 3-rd year student of a very old and prestigious University..and what I study is foreign languages...English and German...so if we calculate..It is 10 years now that I study English....but my passion to the language appeared earlier....when I was 6 years old...and you know...now I just can't imagine my life without this language...I must admit that now English is much closer to me than my native Russian....

I think you are right. As for me, all my life I've been speakin' Ukrainian (I live there. What can I say?). But English, of course, is much easier than my native tongue.
So I wish you to be be successful in studing Ukrainian! :)

I lowe England, and nothing can do with it. +I disappointed in Ukraine, it's politics, and else.
So I don't care Ukraine, because in my soul no more anny patriotism.

nolti, no! There is not!! Why do you mix up "country" and "state"? I HATE the goverment of Ukraine either!! But I love Ukrain itself!! I ADOR my city, I like it's language, it's songs (I always cry when I listen 'em), it's people (my friends), nature - Ukraine is very beautiful!!!
I found of English culture too, But I'm in horror, when I think that perhaps one day I'll leave my pretty country forever!!

I love Ukraine, coz i was born there, i live here, my friends and my family r in here..but i cant surely say that my future will be in Ukraine. I see it somewhere else.. I mean, if nothing gonna change in our country...for better of course, i will not stay here...there's no point... like, yeah, we should stay here, work for our counrty and stuff..but why should i work here, if abroad they have more opportunities to earn good money, to live another..better life... well, actually it's very wide question...
